ABOUT THE JOB: ZEP-RE is seeking a forward-thinking, data-driven, and creative professional to join our People & Culture team as Manager – People Strategy, Talent & Performance. This strategic role is central to building ZEP-RE’s future ready workforce by strengthening leadership, performance, and succession capabilities. Job Details

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design and implementation of the People Strategy, ensuring full alignment with ZEP-RE’s business goals, culture, and values.
  • Drive the Talent Management agenda, including succession planning, talent reviews, capability mapping, and leadership pipeline development using tools such as the 9-box grid.
  • Strengthen the performance culture by implementing data-informed, agile performance management frameworks that promote accountability and continuous feedback.
  • Translate people’s analytics and performance insights into clear, actionable recommendations that inform leadership decisions.
  • Champion culture transformation initiatives that embed ZEP-RE’s leadership behaviors and innovation mindset across teams.
  • Partner with business leaders and People Business Partners to identify, develop, and retain high-potential employees, ensuring succession readiness for critical and emerging roles.
  • Design and deliver leadership and capability development programs incorporating coaching, mentoring, and experiential learning.
  • Conduct organizational diagnostics, including engagement and culture surveys, and coordinate the implementation of resulting action plans.
  • Stay abreast of global and regional trends in talent, innovation, and performance management to continuously enhance ZEP-RE’s people’s practices.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or related field; a postgraduate degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience, including at least 5 years in a senior Talent, Performance, or Organizational Development role.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and executing integrated talent and performance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to translate people data into meaningful business insights.
  • Proficiency in HR systems, digital performance tools, and analytics platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Based at ZEP-RE Headquarters in Nairobi, with periodic travel to regional offices and partner institutions within the region. The role requires cross-cultural agility, systems thinking, and alignment with ZEP-RE’s values of integrity, innovation, and excellence.
