Job Summary
About the Role ZEP-RE is seeking a high-calibre Manager, Insights and Due Diligence to deliver rigorous global economic research and independently lead investment due diligence across both traditional and alternative asset classes. The role plays a critical part in shaping investment strategy by providing robust, data-driven insights that inform transaction decisions and support senior leadership and Investment Committees with clear, evidence-based recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Global Economic & Market Research
- Conduct in-depth global macroeconomic and market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities aligned to the organization’s investment strategy.
- Develop flagship market outlooks, thematic research, and thought leadership reports with clear implications for asset allocation and strategic decision-making.
- Monitor global economic, financial market, and geopolitical developments and assess their impact on portfolio performance.
2. Investment Due Diligence
- Independently lead end-to-end transaction due diligence for investment opportunities across public markets, private markets, and alternative asset classes.
- Evaluate financial models, business plans, valuation assumptions, and key risk metrics for proposed investments.
- Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders (ESG, Risk, Finance, Legal, Operations) and external advisors to ensure transactions meet internal governance and investment standards.
- Prepare comprehensive investment papers and present recommendations to Investment Committees and senior stakeholders for approval.
- Apply professional judgment and constructive challenge to sponsors, management teams, and advisors throughout the transaction process.
3. Data & Analytical Insights
- Design and maintain analytical frameworks, dashboards, and tools to enhance insight generation and decision support.
- Analyze complex financial and economic datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
- Continuously improve analytical approaches to strengthen investment evaluation and monitoring.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CFA or CAIA is highly desirable.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in investment banking, asset management, private equity, venture capital, or related investment roles.
- Strong understanding of ESG principles and their integration across the investment lifecycle.
- Proven experience working closely with C-suite executives and Investment Committees.
- Demonstrated strengths in research, financial analysis, and project management.
- Experience working in multicultural and cross-functional environments.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Power BI, and market data platforms is an added advantage.

Work Environment
Office-based role located at the Head Office in Nairobi, Kenya.
