Job Summary
ZEP-RE is seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Communications. This role will lead the development and execution of our communications strategy, enhancing reputation, brand presence, and stakeholder trust. You will provide strategic leadership across public relations, media engagement, institutional storytelling, digital and social media, brand governance, crisis communications, and donor/partner relations. As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will ensure consistent, compelling, and credible messaging that reflects ZEP-RE’s mandate, strategy, and values across all markets. Job Details
Corporate Communications Strategy
- Develop, own, and implement an integrated Groupwide corporate communications strategy aligned to ZEP-RE’s overall strategy, business objectives, and impact priorities.
- Define priority audiences, narratives, channels, spokespersons, and engagement cadence.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable annual and campaign level communications plans.
- Ensure consistent application of the strategy across the organization
- Advise senior leadership on communication positioning for strategic initiatives, organizational change, and institutional priorities
Public Relations & Media Management
- Lead ZEP-RE’s media relations strategy, building strong relationships with local, regional, and international media.
- Act as the primary point of contact for media enquiries, interviews, and press briefings.
- Draft and oversee press releases, opinion pieces, speeches, and executive statements.
- Monitor media coverage and manage reputational risk proactively
Institutional Storytelling & Content Development
- Shape and steward ZEP-RE’s institutional narrative and storytelling, ensuring alignment with mandate, impact, and brand.
- Oversee development of high-quality content including reports, thought leadership pieces, case studies, speeches, and corporate publications.
- Ensure storytelling effectively communicates impact to partners, donors, regulators, and the public
Digital & Social Media Communications
- Lead strategy and execution across digital platforms and social media channels.
- Oversee content planning, publishing calendars, engagement metrics, and performance analytics.
- Ensure digital channels reinforce brand positioning, thought leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage external digital agencies and service providers where applicable
- Champion innovation in communications, including adoption of new tools, technologies, and best practices.
Brand Governance & Corporate Identity
- Develop and enforce brand guidelines across all markets and functions
- Act as the custodian of the organization’s brand and visual identity.
- Ensure consistency and quality of brand application across publications, digital platforms, events, and partner materials
Crisis & Issues Management
- Develop and maintain crisis communications frameworks and response protocols.
- Act as the first line of coordination for reputational issues, escalating to senior leadership and the Group CEO as appropriate.
- Prepare holding statements, reactive messaging, and media responses in coordination with the leadership team.
Donor, Partner & Institutional Engagements
- Support communications for donor funded programs, development partners, and strategic alliances.
- Develop tailored communication materials and narratives for institutional stakeholders.
- Coordinate communications around partner announcements, events, and reporting requirement
Knowledge Management & Institutional Memory
- Develop systems for archiving communication materials, brand assets, and institutional knowledge.
- Ensure documentation of impact stories, events, and corporate milestones for future reporting and storytelling
Internal Communications (as applicable)
- Support leadership in delivering clear, timely, and engaging internal communications.
- Contribute to alignment, culture, and employee engagement through structured internal messaging
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, International Relations, or related field.
- Master’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in corporate or strategic communications.
- Proven experience within a regional, multinational, financial services, development, or regulated environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in media relations, digital communications, brand governance, and crisis communications.
- Experience engaging with donors, development partners, or multilateral institutions is highly desirable.
- Experience advising senior executives and serving as a strategic communications partner.
